License Renewal Information

Licenses renewed with the Board will be valid for two years from the date a complete renewal has been approved.

The license renewal link will appear in your license portal 60 days before your current license is set to expire, and email notifications will be sent with reminders to renew.

Accessing this link in your license portal is the only way to renew your license.

Below is an example of how the the renewal link will appear in your license portal.

Once all required items for renewal have been submitted and approved, your license will be renewed for two years. Please note, your license will be renewed for two years from the date a complete license renewal application was approved.

Behavior Analyst License Renewal Checklist

  1. Completion and submission of the renewal form. Link to form will appear in your license portal 60 days before your current license is set to expire.
  2. Payment of the renewal fee. ($200)
  3. Evidence of active certification by the certifying entity*. (BCBA or QBA)
    • Once you have submitted a complete renewal application, the upload option will become available in the application portal. Click on the blue “upload” button and upload a current copy of an unexpired certification. See the reference image below.

Note: once you have submitted the renewal application you will need to upload a current copy of your certification.

Assistant Behavior Analyst License Renewal Checklist

  1. Completion and submission of the renewal form. Link to form will appear in your license portal 60 days before your current license is set to expire.
  2. Payment of the renewal fee. ($200)
  3. Evidence of active certification by the certifying entity.* (BCaBA or QASP-S)
    • Once you have submitted a complete renewal application, the upload option will become available in the application portal. Click on the blue “upload” button and upload a current copy of an unexpired certification. See the reference image below.
  4. For licensed assistant behavior analysts, evidence of the ongoing arrangement
    for supervision by a licensed behavior analyst, as required by G.S. 90‑738.
    (2021‑22, s. 1(a). Submitting a current supervision contract/agreement will meet this standard.

Note: once you have submitted the renewal application you will need to upload a current copy of your certification.

*Submitting proof of your current certification from a certifying entity (BACB or QABA), is the verification of completion of any continuing education required to renew.
